Being a relationship manager for ultra-high-net-worth clients is a truly unique role. There is a strong emphasis on building trust – I need my clients to trust me as a person, not just trust me with their assets. The skill set needed to succeed really aligns with my natural strengths as a communicator.

My clients are mainly businesspeople in the Greater China region with complex, international needs. As I’m based in Singapore, most of my meetings are virtual, but I sometimes travel to Taiwan or Hong Kong to meet them in person. Connecting with my clients regularly is key to building trust.

My role as a private banker is to help my clients meet their investment objectives, expand their business empires, and protect the wealth they’ve created, for the benefit of their children and future generations. Understanding their unique circumstances and goals means I can keep an eye out for opportunities that may be of interest to them, locally in the Greater China area, and globally.
